About the Artist

Originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Katerina Podolak lived all across Canada before settling in Toronto. Katerina’s inspiration comes from her adopted city life: “Each of my works is an aesthetic introspection - a reflection of my experiences. My generalization of colours, shapes and spaces is an attempt to simplify my Self, rather than an attempt to reorder my environment, as I search for news ways of looking at things .” Katerina’s work has been exhibited throughout Ontario. In addition, she is active in a number of charities in Toronto and has donated her work and time to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, Cancer Care Ontario, St. Michael's Hospital and Camp Couchiching.
